REPAIRS TO AY67UBU

The vehicle sustained very light damage to the n/s/f  wheel, bumper, wing & headlight. it is a category N which I non structural in nature & can be returned  to the road once repaired & MOT tested. Below is detailed the repairs required & carried out.

VERY LIGHT DAMAGE

First task is to identify all damaged  parts  :-

N/s/f wheel rim, a dent in front wing, scratching on front bumper & a broken headlight.

There was no visible damage to the shock absorber strut or the Wheel bearing.

Once the bumper is removed you can clearly see a bracket that locates the front of the wing & headlight has been bent, the images show the straight drivers side & the bent passenger side.

All the inner wheel arch splash guards are removed to allow inspection of the chassis, suspension, steering & brakes.

A THOROUGH INSPECTION

After confirming there is no damage to any suspension, steering & brake components

The front cross Member is unmarked showing how light a collision it sustained.

Time to source some parts & start the repairs.

Repairs To AY67UBU

First to tackle is the passenger wing, after straightening out the front wing bracket this takes alot of tension out of the wing & just doing this opened up the panel gap between the wing & passenger door.

The dent in the wing is minor I will attempt to pull it out as this is the only damage.

New Headlight & Rebuild

The brand new headlight is fitted next this further confirms the wing is back to original shape, with bulbs swapped over & lights & beam adjusters tested & working, moving on to refitting the inner wheel arch splash guards.

I've replaced the original front bumper primarily because the only damage is to the paintwork & am  currently struggling to find a replacement in better condition, the search goes on.

Service History

The service history was not passed on to me when I acquired this Dacia, this is quite common as companies often destroy the paperwork inline with data protection policies.

I contacted the Dacia main dealer local to where the car was first registered, Mitchell's Dacia were able to confirm they sold & serviced the car sending written confirmation of the first three services with details.

Oil & filter, air filter & brake service completeted at 37,904 miles & rechecked when I acquired the car.

Front & rear brakes are serviced both front disks are replaced, front brake pads & rear brake shoes are in good condition requiring only cleaning & refitting.

Nearly finished

The front passenger steel wheel & trim were damaged, i sourced good condition replacements.

In the most recent mot both rear tyres were noted as advisories because of cracking & were replaced, these were fitted & balanced along with the nearside passenger wheel.

The car is then connected to a diagnostic OBD2 service tool, this tests for electrical issues affecting the engine, Steering, suspension, brakes, airbags.....basically everything electrical on the car.

This came back having no issues with a copy of the report included in paperwork.

After wheel alignments are checked & passing its Mot with no advisories. It's roadtest time, the car drove really well with such low mileage & being in such good condition, clearly it has been well cared for.

it is now ready for sale.
